Okay, Okay…I’m finally doing something with my website. Many of you have asked for me to do this, so *bam* this is for you 🙂
I figured this would be a good time since I decided to dive into the world of modeling chocolate for an order this past weekend. I was asked by a friend to make a ‘Tardis’ cake for her 11yr old’s birthday. What on earth is a ‘Tardis’ anyway? Obviously I don’t watch Dr. Who. Luckily, she sent a picture along with her order. Plus, I have Facebook and Pinterest so it wasn’t too difficult to figure out…until I got to the modeling chocolate. I don’t use fondant…ever. I don’t like the taste (even when making it myself), and I really don’t like working with it. Needless to say, I was skeptical about trying modeling chocolate. I can honestly say I was surprised at how easy it was to make and work with. I started with white candy melts since I needed a couple of different colors to make it work. I did notice that after the modeling chocolate ‘set up’ it was a little chunky. I did my darnedest to save it after I colored it. It did come out a little speckled, but I just called it time travel space dust. I’ll try a different technique next time, and hopefully it will come out better. Overall, I think it turned out great for my first attempt!
Enjoy!!
